A huge tree came crashing down on the Arlem-Nuvem bypass disrupting vehicular traffic for some time on Saturday noon.
Personnel of the fire brigade were pressed into service to remove the tree and restore traffic on the bypass.
Meanwhile, District Collector, G P Naik along with district officials and PWD engineers visited the busy traffic junctions at Arlem, Nuvem and Gogol this morning.
The Collector discussed with the officials how to develop the junctions by removing the existing structures and advertising boards hampering free flow of traffic.
Naik told Herald that the exercise was to ensure that the three traffic junctions were developed on scientific lines. He pointed out that offers have come from private parties to develop these traffic junctions with fountains.
