MAYEM: Occupants of a house at Haldanwadi-Mayem had a lucky escape after a huge mango tree came crashing down on their residence on Wednesday.
The house belonging to Nitusingh Chodankar was partially damaged after the uprooted roadside tree also blocked the main road, disrupting vehicular traffic for about five hours.
According to reports, the occupants from the house managed to run out of the house, while no vehicle was passing along the main road at the time of the incident.
Bicholim fire personnel rushed to the site and cleared the debris. The house owner suffered a loss of about Rs 50,000.
