Quepem MLA Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar will inaugurate the festival on January 17 at 3 pm in the presence of Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik, Director of Tribal Welfare Sandya Kamat, historian Prajal Sakhardande and social worker Camilo Barreto. Annual souvenir ‘Amcho Ekvott’ will be released on the occasion.
Different traditional item making competitions like making of Mol’la, broom, Nivoni, Dhayi and Fula Fatti will be organised. Traditional games like Chanteani, Logoreani, tug of war, breaking the pot and Tonn-Barani will also be organised. There will be different traditional stalls.
Later in the evening, there will be a traditional musical event ‘Intrumez’ presented by Niz Kalakar Ambaulim. Curchorem MLA and GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral and Quepem Municipal Council Vice Chairman Mateus Camilo Simoes and social worker Anthony Vas will be present.
On January 18, Shirish Lawande, Nehru Yuva Kendra South Goa Youth Co-ordinator, will inaugurate a blood donation camp at 9 am.
