VASCO: Three persons were arrested by Vasco police for reportedly assaulting, abusing and threatening a person with dire consequences on Sunday night.
Sources from the Mormugao police station informed that on the complaint of Anil Kankonkar, age 46 years, resident of House Number 12/16/1, near St Xavier’s Church, Harbour-Mormugao, that on Sunday night near Ghanashyam Hotel, Sada Junction, some persons namely Kalpesh, Siddesh, Suraj Chodankar and Udai Naik, all residents of Mormugao, with their common intention reportedly wrongfully restrained the complainant, assaulted him and abused him using filthy words and further threatened him with dire consequences to his life.
Mormugao police booked the four Mormugao resident under Section 323, 341, 504, 506(ii) r/w 34 IPC and later on Monday, arrested the three – Kalpesh, Udai Naik and Siddesh – of the four booked for the assault.
“The trio were later released on bail by the JMFC after they were produced before the magistrate. Further investigation is being carried by PSI Gouresh Malik of Mormugao Police Station,” sources added.
