Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that 12 mineral blocks have been auctioned in Goa so far, of which five are already operational, while four more are expected to commence operations shortly. He added that six additional mineral blocks will be put up for auction next month as part of the state’s mining roadmap. The Chief Minister also stated that consent has been granted to four companies to lift mineral dumps located on private land. Meanwhile, the first phase of dump auctions under the government’s policy has been completed successfully. The second phase of dump auctions is scheduled to begin later this month. Sawant said the steps are aimed at reviving the mining sector while ensuring compliance with existing regulations and policies.
