MARGAO: A Maruti Omni van, an i10 car and a motorcycle were gutted in a fire triggered by a cylinder explosion at Pateapur-Nuvem on Wednesday noon.
One Joao Faleiro also sustained burn injuries on his hand in the fire and was rushed to the Hospicio hospital. The value of the property destroyed is put at Rs 3.58 lakh.
Faleiro was replacing the cylinder in the Omni Van in the car pouch when the cylinder nozzle broke, causing a spark, which later triggered an explosion.
The fire personnel stated that while they received a call at around 1.09 pm, they reached the spot at around 1.20 pm. The police are investigating.
