PANJIM: Police on Sunday arrested two Nigerians on charges of overstaying in the country in separate incidents at Patradevi-Pernem and Anjuna.
According to Pernem Police, accused, Okorocha Chukuridi, presently residing at Calangute, was found without the valid visa, thus overstaying in the country since June 4. Police arrested the accused and PSI Vijaykumar Chodankar is investigating the case.
In another incident at Assagao Junction, Anjuna Police arrested accused Obinna Devid Okuma, presently residing at Assagao, on charges of overstaying in the country. Anjuna Police informed that the Nigerian national was found without valid visa, forged stamp of extension of visa in the name of FRRO-Hyderabad to show that his stay in India is legal and used it as genuine, thereby cheating the authority. Police further informed that the accused obstructed and abused the police personnel while executing their lawful duties and was found without having legal driving licence riding the scooter. Anjuna Police arrested the accused and PSI Mahesh Kerkar is investigating the case.
