Two prominent leaders join Goa Forward

PANJIM: In a major boost to Goa Forward Party, the ex-chairman of North Goa Zilla Panchayat, Jayesh Salgaonkar, on Saturday joined the party along with AAP leader Prakash Bandodkar & Pilerne Citizens Forum members.

Jayesh and Prakash were welcomed into the fold by Party President Prabhakar Timble.
Jayesh was chairman of North Goa Zilla Panchayat for 5 years.  Jayesh has been declared as the face of the Goa Forward for Saligao constituency and is likely to take on Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar in the upcoming assembly elections.
Goa Forward mentors Rohan Khaunte and Vijai Sardesai were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Sardesai, has confirmed that preliminary talks are being held with Congress for alliance for the upcoming elections.
“There is an effort to unite all non-BJP forces with a common minimum programme to oust BJP and certainly we cannot discount the Congress,” said Vijai on the grand alliance talks. “(Right now the talks are at preliminary stage), presently Mann ki baat is going on and no Kaam ki baat has happened with the High Command of the Congress and we will make it formal later,” Vijai said.
Vijai, who has been moderate in the criticism of AAP in the past, has now taken the party head on.
