MAPUSA: The two members of the Revolutionary Goans who were arrested by Pernem police on late Tuesday evening were released on bail on Wednesday.
Sarvesh Karapurkar and Ritesh Kandolkar, both residents of Dhargal, were released on a bail bond of Rs 10,000 and with one surety of the like amount.
After the duo was arrested, over 200 members of the Revolutionary Goans had confronted the Pernem police.
They were arrested following a complaint by Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar.
Meanwhile, advocate representing the Revolutionary Goans Jitendra Gaonkar said, “Since 506(2) is a non-bailable offence, we had to approach the magistrate. Our aim was to get the two out. We have already filed counter complaint against Ajgaonkar and further procedures will be followed as per the law.”
