PONDA: Umesh Gaude, 43, from Amadi, Keri died after sustaining injuries when he fell from a tree while the body of Pandhari Varadkar, 83 from Gogol, Margao was found floating in the Zuari river. Ponda police have sent the bodies of both for autopsy to GMC, Bambolim after conducting the panchnama.
As per the sources, Gaude who is an employee of Ponda electricity department had climbed up on a tree near his house on Sunday morning around 11 when he fell and sustained severe injuries. He died on the way to the Ponda Sub-District Hospital.
