VASCO: Two women were injured when a huge tree opposite the vegetable market was uprooted due to gusty wind and heavy rainfall, in Vasco, on Tuesday afternoon.

Both the women were standing near the tree when it was uprooted. They were immediately shifted to Chicalim Sub District Hospital for medical treatment.
Some onlookers informed that due to strong wind currents the tree came down with the wires blocking the access to the road of either side of the market.
Vasco Fire personnel immediately rushed to the spot and cleared the road.
In the Mormugao Taluka several incidences of tree uprooting were reported with the Vasco Fire Station.
When contacted the Vasco Fire Station, the officials informed that there were five calls of tree uprooting, palm tree falling on the wires etc.
