“UGF slams the actions of the tainted political entities like the BJP, the Congress who put their panels which essentially create divisions in the MMC. This also includes the Fatorda Forward of the Vijai Sardessai which in reality is a panel which will help him put Fatorda for sale going by his other initiative of providing free WiFi, wherein he leased the Municipal land to Reliance,” said Ashish Kamat the president of UGF.
“The development in municipal councils is hampered when the council is divided on political line,” Ashish added.
The UGF claims that the candidates, it is extending support to, know the problems of their wards, are sincere and dedicated, and can find their own solutions to the problems faced by the citizens. “Margao is running out of time and space. If issues like market, garbage, traffic, illegal encroachments, tax collection etc are not sorted out in next the five years, any development will virtually be impossible,” said UGF Secretary Avinash Tavares.
The UGF has urged the people to vote from their hearts to individuals who care for Margao and Fatorda and not for the ones who have taken oath to serve some MLA. The UGF has also warned the government against hampering the development of the city if their panel is not voted to power.
