VASCO: About 300 workers of a company, who are on strike for the last six months, on Saturday warned the company that since it has failed to fulfill their demands, they will get court arrested on July 1, 3 and 5.
Addressing media, union leader Prataph Mardolkar said about 300 workers are on strike for the last six months and the company has failed to fulfill their demands. “The workers are without job for the last six months, due to which their families are suffering and all the attempts by the union proved futile,” stated Mardolkar.
“We even approached the government for its intervention to get our problem solved, but that too did not work as the company failed to come to terms with the striking workers,” added Mardolkar.
“Since our demands are not met, all the 300 workers will get arrested on July 1, 3 and 5,” Mardolkar said.
Mardolkar said even after the court arrest, the company fails to meet their demand then the families of all the 300 workers will also get court arrested. “If the company still fails to pay heed to our demands, then they will go on indefinite hunger strike,” warned Mardolkar.
