The proposed survey for the Unity Mall project was postponed to tomorrow after officials arrived at the site intending to survey only the area earmarked for the mall, triggering objections from local villagers.
Residents insisted that a partial survey was unacceptable and demanded a comprehensive assessment covering the entire stretch from Toyyar Lake to the proposed mall site. They argued that limiting the survey to the mall area alone would not address their concerns regarding environmental impact and water flow.
Following detailed discussions between officials and villagers at the site, both sides reached a consensus to conduct a full physical survey of the area. It was also agreed that the assessment would be supplemented with Google imagery to ensure greater clarity and transparency.
The comprehensive survey is now scheduled to be carried out tomorrow, with villagers stating that they would cooperate with the process while continuing to closely monitor developments related to the project.
