PANJIM: The Porvorim police have booked a 43-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs 17 crore.
According to the police, one Govind Dasari, a resident of Joswado-Socoro lodged a complaint that at Aditi Constructions, Joswado-Socorro, the accused who was employed as the accountant in the complainant’s company and was entrusted with the work to maintain company accounts, transfer payments, investments and shares and to carry on daily stock trading through the company account, allegedly misappropriated the money belonging to the company amounting to Rs 17 crore.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 408 of IPC. PSI M Parab is investigating the case under the guidance of Porvorim PI Rahul Parab.
