GUIRIM: The Mapusa police registered a case of unnatural death as the body of a 44-year-old native of Uttar Pradesh, who was missing for the last two days, was found floating in a field at Arradi, Guirim on Saturday morning.
An official from the Mapusa police station told Herald they registered a case on receiving a call from the beat police constable that a body was floating in the water in a field at Guirim. Accordingly, they visited the spot and after conducting inquiry it was revealed that the body was of one Surender Yadav.
According to Yadav’s wife he had gone fishing two days ago when it was heavily raining and all the area was flooded. He didn’t return home and since then was missing. His wife unsuccessfully searched for him for two days.
His motorcycle was parked in a shed near the Guirim Panchayat for the last two days which was brought to the notice of a beat police constable by the locals.
