UP native held for theft of railway property

MARGAO: Railway Protection Force attached to the Konkan Railway at Margao arrested a person from Uttar Pradesh for stealing railway property and he has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days and hence sent to Colvale jail.

MARGAO: Railway Protection Force attached to the Konkan Railway at Margao arrested a person from Uttar Pradesh for stealing railway property and he has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days and hence sent to Colvale jail.
Rajendra Kumar Verma (45) from Kydganj, Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, was found in possession of one “joggle fish plate” and 14 “pendroll clips”. These items are specially designed and used for fixing railway tracks.
The said Rajendra was taking these items to sell them in the local market probably to a scrap yard when he was nabbed by the police. The Railway Property Act under which he has been arrested attracts imprisonment for a term of five years or fine or both.
