Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, reacting to the Union Budget, said that the UPA government, in order to bring cheers to aam admi, has laid greater thrust on social sector, spending on rural development and providing enhanced outlay for infrastructure.
This, he said, will help to enhance the purchasing power of the common man so that his consumption level goes up and increases the demand for goods and services.
Kamat said that in the Budget social security net has been broadened and new pension scheme has been launched. The government has committed to bring down BPL families by 50%. In a nutshell, the interim budget of the UPA government is for aam admi and his welfare, the chief minister said.
