VASCO: A resident of Upasnagar in Vasco died after a rickshaw knocked him down on the highway opposite Queeny Hotel. The driver has been arrested.
The accident occurred when the victim Rajesh Kumar Halwai (52) was on his morning walk at 6.10 am. He was rushed to Chicalim district hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors. Police conducted panchanama.
An offence has been registered against the driver Subhash Rathod, a resident of Bagalkot, under Section 279, 304 (A) of IPC. PSI Atikesh Khedekar is investigating the matter.
