Upbeat Sawaikar flaunts deeds on Modi govt anniv

Narendra Sawaikar, South Goa BJP head Sarvanand Bhagat, Zilla Parishad Member Ulhas Tuenkar and Councillor Rupesh Mahatme were present at the briefing. 
MP Sawaikar said “Positive atmosphere and attitude is now seen amongst people of Goa and it has reasons. Around 80% to 85% schools of South Goa have their own toilets and this is due to Swachch Bharat Mission. Out of 4.5 lakh LPG consumers 42,000 Goans have given up on subsidy which is a achievement,” he said. 
Sawaikar agreed that he has been able to complete 50% of his manifesto promises of 2014 and other commitments like the Passport Seva Kendra, Rail Over Bridges, Roads Bridges, Railway Infrastructure have already begun and will be completed soon. 
“The target is to complete all the roads and bridges by December 2018,” said Sawaikar. Speaking on the issue of the Kalem Panchayat and its problems the MP said, “It is a need of the people to have development in the village which is getting held up because of the village falling under Forest Areas. We are planning to table amendments where in the people get their due development” the MP said.
As far as the Tejas train was concerned, the MP said he has addressed a letter to the Railway minister to extend the termination point of the train till Margao instead of Karmali. Sawaikar also said that the Curchorem Rail station will be modernised and the plan is ready.
