UPDATE: Goa reaches 40 percent with monthly aid, says CM

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that Goa is the only state where nearly 40 percent of the population receives monthly financial assistance through various welfare schemes.

According to the Chief Minister, the state has around 10.5 lakh voters, and on average about four lakh residents benefit from direct bank transfers. The beneficiaries include approximately 1.8 lakh people under the Griha Aadhar scheme and 1.6 lakh under DSSY, along with recipients of special pension, Atal Pension, and ST pension programmes.

He said individuals receive monetary support ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 every month. Sawant emphasised that no other state in India provides such wide monthly financial coverage through DBT, highlighting it as a major welfare achievement of the Goa government.
