PONDA: Around 48 Usgao locals on Friday approached the panchayat office with objection to the construction of a COVID Care Centre at the Usgao panchayat ground.
In the objection letter, the locals cited that the ground is situated near a residential area and it isn’t appropriate to set up a centre to treat the infected people.
The Usgao Panchayat recently held a special meeting chaired by Sarpanch Asmitha Gaude and decided to request and permit a Vasco based NGO to set up the entre
The panchayat members took decision following public grievances on account of rising cases.
The Vasco-based NGO was approached in order to construct a temporary COVID Care Centre at the ground on May 20.
