PANJIM: Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao on Friday said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has informed him that from June 1, vaccination of seafarers will begin.
He recalled that during the first round of the Tika Utsav drive in Benaulim which was held during mid-April, he had written to the CM, requesting him to provide vaccination for all seafarers and Goans who are stuck here working at Dubai and London and other places. In that letter he said they should be given first preference as frontline workers.
“To take this forward I had several meetings with him time and again. Today the CM called me and said that the vaccination for all these frontline workers especially the seafarers will start from June 1. I’m grateful to the CM for the same,” said Churchill.
