VASCO: A resident of Vaddem, Vasco, died in an accident at the MES College junction on Sunday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 6 am, when the deceased, Joaquim Mariano D’Costa (38), was speeding towards Vasco from Verna on the NH17-B in his Swift Dzire car. Near the MES College junction, he lost control of his vehicle, which collided into a road divider and ended up on the other side of the four-lane road. A tipper truck that was proceeding towards Verna from Vasco then rammed into his car, due to which Joaquim died on the spot.
Vasco fire personnel later removed the body after cutting open the car.
