She claimed that a national office bearer had called her, besides other leaders, forcing her to quit the youth Congress post. “Yes, a national office bearer called me up around a month ago asking me to resign from the Youth Congress post. Besides, there were many others who told me to quit the position,” she said, while demanding to know why she should resign when she was elected through a democratic process.
“Why should I resign from the party. I have been elected to the post in a democratically held election and not a selection. I will not resign as youth Congress president come what may. Let the Congress leadership take a call. Let them take the decision to throw me out of the party, but I will not resign,” she asserted.
Valanka, who was served a show cause notice on the anti-party activities during the Lok Sabha poll by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, said that she has drawn attention of the A K Anthony Committee on the harassment meted out to her.
