VALPOI: Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) Chairperson Parveen Shaikh tendered her resignation on Monday to make way for Akhtar Ali Shah to lead the Council in future.
In a press conference held at VMC office chairperson Parveen Shaikh said that she has tendered her resignation from the post of chairperson and have submitted to VMC office which will be forwarded to Directorate of Municipal Administration.
She further said that in her one and half year tenure as a chairperson, she has initiated 91 developmental projects in the town costing more than Rs 7 crore.
“In my term I got support from all sections of society which helped me to undertake many developmental works such as building of Municipal ground, roads, tender process for renovation of VMC garden, shifting of Deputy Collector’s office to Valpoi and many more. In future, other councillors and I will fully support the upcoming VMC Chairperson Aktar Ali Shah”, she said.
