VASCO: Upset and agitated with the sudden transfer of vocational instructors, over 80 students from Vasco ITI boycotted the classes to protest against the transfer.
According to the information, after reaching their classes the students from RAC and Mach Diesel trade came to know that their vocational instructors including G S Rao and Basilio Fernandes and three others have been transferred by the office of Directorate of Skill Development and entrepreneurship to other ITIs and new instructors would be joining.
Unhappy with the transfers, the students decided to boycott the classes and started protesting against the decision in front of the Vasco ITI office. The efforts to convince the students by the other instructors and principal were futile as students were in no mood to listen until the department revoked the transfer.
“We are from RAC and Mach Diesel trade and today when we came to know that our vocational instructors Basilio Fernandes and G S Rao have been transferred in the middle of semester. We want that department should stop the transfer otherwise we will not attend the classes as we are not happy with the new vocational instructors,” the students told reporters.
Principal Vasco ITI Kapil Aigal said, “I don’t know why the students have been trying to make it an issue and going haywire. They have no choice as it was routine transfer and alternate replacement is coming today itself. We have already reported the matter to higher-ups and hopefully the issue would be resolved. We will again try to convince the students.”
