“I condemn this incident and I do not support this in anyway. I will ask the police to identify the pillion rider and the child’s parents and ensure that necessary action is taken. Let me make it very clear I strongly condemn this, especially parents who allow their minor children to use vehicles without licence. If the guilty person is a member of any riders club, I will ensure that he has no place in future activities,” said Almeida.
When contacted, the Vasco Traffic Cell stated that Traffic PI Sudesh Narvekar is on leave since Saturday and that Dabolim Traffic PI Naulesh Desai is holding additional charges. Efforts to contact PI Narvekar on his mobile proved futile, while PI Desai said he was not aware of the incident.
