VASCO: The famous Vasco Saptah fair this year will be for a shorter duration and will have lesser number of stalls, while roads will be also free from encroachments to facilitate the movement of ambulances and fire tenders in case of emergencies.
Stating that the fair will only be conducted for seven days this year, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida told Herald that he will also minimise the number of stalls to ensure that the roads are not blocked. Almeida said, “This year, the Saptah fair will be restricted for seven days and no extension will be allowed.”
“Besides, the number of stalls goes on increasing every year and this year, I will minimise the number of stalls as it congests the city. I will also try and shift some stalls to another location,” said Almeida.
When brought to his notice about the last minute setting up of stalls in front of the Vasco Civil and Criminal Court, Almeida replied: “This year, I will not allow last minute stalls in front of the court and I will inform the council about it.”
