vehicles collide, two hurt

Two persons were seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles along the Old Goa-Pilar road near Igorjhe Waddo-Azzosim on Sunday afternoon.
According to Agassaim Police, the accident occurred when Albert Mathais of Prabhuwaddo-Diwar, who was proceeding from Old Goa to Pilar on his scooter, collided against an oncoming Maruti van.
Maruti van driver Salim Shaikh of Mangor Hill, Vasco, was proceeding from Dabolim Airport to Old Goa to drop a passenger, who had hired Salim’s, van at the airport.
Both the riders sustained head and hand injuries and were later shifted to Goa Medical College Hospital for medical treatment.
Agassaim Police conducted the panchanama and registered the case under Motor Vehicle Act and is investigating the case.
