MARGAO: The office of the Collector and District Magistrate has issued a notice to mining activist Ravindra Velip to appear before it in connection with the assault incident at Sada sub jail.
Additional Collector -1 Swapnil Naik IAS has been appointed to conduct the magisterial inquiry into the alleged assault and attempt-to-murder case involving Velip at Sada sub jail.
Velip has been requested to appear before the authority on April 23 at 10 am to record his statement or produce any other information in connection with the assault.
“After 28 days of the incident at Sada sub-jail in Vasco, I have received this notice to be present for the inquiry and to record my statement,” said Velip on Thursday.
