PANJIM: VFS Global successfully held another edition of its Mobile Biometric Clinic (MBC) at the Taj Vivanta, Panjim recently. The Goa MBC is part of the UK Home Office and VFS Global’s proactive approach to strive for customer service excellence for UK visa applications.
The MBC is a new and optional service, which for an additional fee, allows applicants who are residents around Goa to submit their UK visa application and biometric data using a mobile facility in Goa. All visa applicants from Goa previously would have had to travel to Mumbai to lodge their applications. The new MBC service now offers the option to do this much closer to home.
The service was first introduced in October last year, and the first formal clinic was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, British High Commissioner, Sir James Bevan and VFS Global’s South Asia Region Head, Vishal Jairath, on March 11. British Deputy High Commissioner Mumbai, Peter Buckingham, Member of Parliament for Leicester East, Keith Vaz and Chairman of the British Business Group, Beryl Nasse also attended. The MBC uses the UK Home Office’s Mobile Biometric Enrolment System (BES) equipment to take biometric data (finger scans and digital photograph). This service is delivered by the UK Home Office’s commercial partner, VFS Global.
This service is targeted towards the applicants in Goa, who would normally be required to travel to Mumbai (nearest UK Visa application centre) to apply for a UK visa. This will save applicants both time and travel expenses. The service has been receiving excellent response from visa applicants from Goa and surrounding areas, which encourages the possibilities of conducting MBCs in future.
VFS Global has been privileged to be associated with the Government of UK since 2003, being the trusted partner in 35 countries, having processed over 12.81 million visa applications and 10.50 million biometric enrolments through its network of operating 75 visa application centres globally.
