PANJIM: The Juvenile Justice Board of Goa (JJB) will pronounce its order on the lie-detector test of the minor witness in the Fr Bismarque Dias mysterious death case on December 17. Crime Branch has sought JJB’s permission to conduct the test on the witness.
The board heard CB and the witness along with the victim assistance unit on Monday. The minor witness has not objected and was prepared to go for the test but the victim assistance unit, which is a party as per norms, has objected to the lie-detector test of the minor. JJB has reserved the order to December 17.
Crime Branch that is investigating the case has received consent from JMFC court last week to conduct the test on another of the witnesses who is a major in age. Crime Branch has already received the viscera analysis report which ruled out the police theory that Bismarque had drowned after consuming alcohol.
Crime Branch is still waiting for the DNA profiling and diatom test reports which are crucial to the investigation.
