Vijai dares Cong to form govt without GFP

Sardesai said he will never allow Congress to form the government in the State

PANJIM: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai on Thursday challenged the Congress to form the government without them.
Claiming that the Manohar Parrikar-led coalition government is stable only because of Goa Forward, Sardesai said he will never allow Congress to form the government in the State.
Addressing the media, Sardesai said, “The Congress may be upstream in the country with all the opposition parties uniting, but the national political development has no bearing on the political scenario in Goa.”
He added, “I challenge Congress to form the government without us. Also there is news in one of the national newspapers that Congress is in talks with MGP to form government.” He further said that if at all there is something in this, he will ensure that this government is not formed.
When questioned whether Goa Forward was approached by the Congress for forming the government, Sardesai said no one had spoken to him or other party leaders. “Whatever the Congress party is doing is cheap theatrics. They need to first introspect,” he said.
Taking credit for making Manohar Parrikar the Chief Minister, Sardesai said, “It was me who made Manohar Parrikar the Chief Minister of Goa. The BJP-led alliance is working and is very stable only because of our Goa Forward Party. Our party knows how to respect the alliance,” he added.
