MARGAO: Vikat Bhagat’s advocate on Friday moved two applications seeking the call detail records of his mobile phone which is attached by the police and also seeking a statement from the Investigating Officer whether he has received or not the complaint made by him which was sent through the jailor.
While asserting that he has been falsely implicated in the crime, Vikat said two other persons were involved and one of them had called him on his mobile and that is the reason why the call detail records are required by him.
He said the service provider automatically erases the records within 6 to 12 months and hence argued that the records have to be sought, immediately.
Police Inspector Rajendra Prabhu Desai who was present in the court when asked by the judge admitted that the mobile phone has been attached and the records would be provided to Vikat who is accused of having raped and murdered the Irish girl Danielle Mclaughlin at Palolem.
In the other application he stated that he had given his version of the incident through a complaint made to the Investigating Officer which was sent through the Jailor on April 26, 2017 and sought to know whether the Investigating Officer received it or not.
At the last hearing on July 31, Vikat had moved an application asking for a clone copy of the hard disk where the CCTV footage of the hotel is recorded. He said he was provided a CD with only excerpts of the footage while he actually wanted a clone copy of the hard disk.
All these applications have been moved when the case if fixed for arguments before charge. The matter is now fixed for August 21 where the Public Prosecutor V G Costa is prepared to argue on the three applications and also present his arguments before framing charges.
