VALPOI: A technical snag in the computer system of the Valpoi Municipal Council has been causing severe hardship to the locals for the past many days. Locals have expressed anger as authorities are yet to rectify the problem, making it impossible for them to seek services from the VMC.
“We are not getting the resolutions and other certificates on time, past many days. The VMC’s computer system office is out of order last several days. It appears that the councillors are not serious in this regard, complained Sanjeev Gaonkar, a local. According to VMC’s administrative staff members, the computer system has developed some faults due to which payment and other procedures have been disrupted for many days. The computer system involved in receiving payments and delivering challan slips has not been working and this has caused hardship to people, say the administrative staff members. It is learnt that VMC authorities are attending to the problem, but were yet to restore  the system.
VMC Chief Officer Cynthia Mesquita admitted to the problem faced by the people due to disruption in the computer system.
