PANJIM: Social worker Samil Volvoikar from Corlim on Thursday resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and hinted at contesting the ensuing Assembly elections.
Volvoikar was the executive committee member of the BJP’s North Goa District committee. He is also the board of director of the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL).
Volvoikar said that he has been working with the Cumbharjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar for the last 20 years and felt that time has come for him to quit the party and start his own political innings.
When asked whether he will join any other political party, he said that all will depend only after discussing with his supporters and well wishers.
