PANJIM: As the curtains came down on the 44th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Saturday evening, all eyes were on the arrival of St Andre MLA and Vice Chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa, Vishnu Surya Wagh, who gave the opening ceremony a miss.
Otherwise clad in Indian attire, Wagh arrived looking dapper in a black suit.
When asked about the festival, he said that they (ESG) were happy with the turnout and will learn from their mistakes and improve the festival in 2014.
Prominently visible at the function was the BJP brigade comprising Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar, Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, PWD Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar and Environment Minister Alina Saldanha. Also present were MPs Francisco Sardinha and Shripad Naik.
Though not as star studded as the opening ceremony, Bollywood was represented by Actors Asha Parekh, Rohit Shetty, Jimmy Shergill, Rageshwari Sachdev, Varun Badola, Deepshikha Nagpal, Aditi Govitrikar and Girish Malik.
