BICHOLIM: A walk on a walking track by a river side in Bicholim proved scary for a 62-year-old person when he fell into the river and the fire personnel had to be called in to rescue him.
According to available information, a person identified as Laxmikant Kotkar was walking on the track situated along the riverside. However, when he went near the river to see the water, he accidentally fell into the water and started screaming for help.
Although the river water was less he started shouting with fright.
He was unable to come out because of mud and other sludge in the river.
To his luck he was cited by a person who had come for a walk.
He along with other locals intimated police who in turned intimated fire brigade office. Finally, he was rescued by a firemen and police team safely with the help of a ladder though he sustained minor injuries.
