Want ganja gaddas in Margao, vote for BJP candidates in civic polls: Vijai

MARGAO: “If you want ganja gaddas in Margao, vote for BJP candidates at the municipal elections”, is going to be a slogan for the ensuing Margao Municipal Council elections,” said Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai while stating that his party is prepared to face the elections in any which manner the government decides to hold, on Monday.

Sardesai said that the wrong policies of the government need to be highlighted and added that the proposal to permit marijuana cultivation in the State will be raised extensively during the municipal elections.

“We are going to ask the people to vote for the candidates sponsored by BJP if they want ganja to be sold by the kiosks in the town,” he said.

Sardesai wondered how the Sunburn Festival could take place even though the government had said they would not be given licence and further asked why examinations are not being held online even when the Health Minister has predicted a spike in COVID cases following the New Year celebrations in the State.

Sardesai dismissed the BJP’s claim of winning all the 40 Assembly constituencies at the next 2022 Assembly elections and pointed out that at the recently held Zilla Panchayat elections BJP did not have candidates in all the constituencies. “Has the BJP ever fielded candidates in all the 40 Assembly constituencies in Goa?” asked GFP Working President Kiran Kandolkar.
