BICHOLIM: All the four gates of the Anjunem Dam at Keri were let open on Sunday late evening and about 20 cubic water was released from the dam.
According to the available information provided by the Executive Engineer WRD, M P Hudedagaddi, since last three days 90 mm of rain was reported and so they decided to let out the water from the Anjunem dam. Presently there is water level of 93.18 mts and we have released 20 cubic water from the dam. The water was released during the low tide and so there is no possibility of flooding in the area, he said, adding that the range of Walwanti Sanquelim river is 1.7 mts. Authorities have informed the general public not to panic, as the situation is under control.
