BASTORA: The Bastora Panchayat in collaboration with Deccan Fine Chemicals has introduced the cultivation of watermelon in the village at the panchayat hall on Friday. This activity is being carried out as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.
Deccan Fine Chemicals through its Agricultural wing, Deccan Krishi Mitr introduced watermelon cultivation in Bastora, after achieving success in reviving the cultivation of watermelons in Parra. Watermelon will be cultivated in Bastora under the guidance and monitoring of Deccan Krishi Mitr.
Last year, twelve farmers had acquired these seeds and were successful in growing watermelons in Bastora. This year fifteen farmers have shown interest.
Sarpanch Savio Martins thanked the company for supporting the farmers of Bastora in watermelon cultivation.
