MAPUSA: Calangute police arrested Mahabir Abdul Mondal (32), a West Bengal native, for illegally possessing 290 grams of ganja worth Rs 30,000. Presently, Mondal is residing in Nagoa.
According to PI Jivba Dalvi, he received information that the accused is engaged in selling drugs in Calangute and would be going to the Calangute fish market with drugs.
Accordingly, a team was formed and the accused was nabbed red handed possessing drugs during a raid which was conducted at 11 pm on Saturday.
The accused is booked under Section 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act.
