MARGAO: Refuting the allegations of Margao Wholesale Fish Market Association, Milagres Fernandes, sopo collector of SGPDA alleged that the wholesale fish traders are involved in creating a mess by releasing the fish-water in the market and bringing fish from unknown sources.

Milagres alleged that Ibrahim Maulana, leader of wholesale fish traders, is involved in transporting the fish from unknown sources into the market.
It is pertinent to note that a few days ago Ibrahim had alleged that there is no proper maintenance of the wholesale fish market, and he had even threatened not to pay the sopo, if the SGPDA fails to keep the market clean, besides fixing the electric lights.
“The allegations made by Ibrahim are baseless. He must keep in mind that all the dirty water in the wholesale fish market is being released by the vehicles of wholesalers coming from other States,” Milagres alleged.
