VASCO: Sharply reacting to the Wednesday night gang attack just outside the Vasco police station, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has vowed to take serious action against the culprits.
Parsekar said that the incident, in which a gang of 15 culprits assaulted three persons with sharp weapons and logs outside the police station, is strongly objectionable and cannot be accepted.
The chief minister was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an inaugural function of fashion a store owned by fashion designer Karishma Mehta on Thursday evening.
“There is a difference between such incident taking place at remote places and in front of a police station. As this incident reported right in front of police station, it only shows that there is no fear of police which is objectionable and cannot be accepted. I will call the police inspector today itself and ask him what action he has taken. Be assured that stringent action will be taken against the people involved in such assault case,” Parsekar, who holds the home portfolio, said.
