William Anes selected as King Momo

Panjim: Noted entertainment icon and ace dance performer William Anes has been selected as King Momo for Goa Carnaval 2019, beginning March 2.  A committee constituted by Goa Tourism selected Anes, who was one among three applicants in the race for the mythical king.   
William Anes, aged 53 years and a resident of Panjim is well known in the entertainment industry for hosting shows both nationally and internationally. Thrilled to be King Momo for the first time, he said, “It has always been my wish to be King Momo and I am all set to enthrall Goa and all visitors to the State for the four-day Carnaval celebrations. I will strongly advocate for peace, harmony and a clean and green Goa during my four-day term as King Momo.”
He has been a part of Goa Carnaval floats for his excellent dance performances and has since 1982 contributed his best at float parades during Carnaval. As King Momo, he will declare the decree of “Eat, Drink and make Merry” for Goa which marks the beginning of the Carnaval slated to be held till March 5. 
The float parade will commence from the capital city on March 2, followed by Margao on March 3, Vasco and Ponda on March 4 while the parade will shift to Mapusa, Morjim and Curchorem on March 5.
