PANJIM: Leader of Opposition Pratapsing Rane, while extending Diwali greetings, wished for resumption of mining activities in the State, that are at halt since October last year following a Supreme Court order.
At the same time, the former chief minister claimed that the FIR registered against him by the crime branch is “factually incorrect”. “During my tenure no such thing happened. There are so many discrepancies,” Rane said.
“I wish with this Diwali, mining will also restart in the State. Closer of mining has created terrible problem for common man. Poor people like mechanics, traders, are suffering,” he said.
The case pertaining to illegal mining in Goa is currently is being heard in the Apex Court on daily basis. The government is expecting an order in favour of State by October end.
