With Dhond out, Wagh set to become minister

St Andre MLA likely to be inducted in cabinet after monsoon session; decision on cabinet post had been scuttled by former organizing secretary

PANJIM: BJP ‘s St Andre MLA Vishnu Surya Wagh is set to be inducted into the Laxmikant Parsekar cabinet after the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly ends.
Wagh, who recently patched up with the government, after raising his voice against it in the past, is expected to get the Art and Culture portfolio, while retaining the chairmanship of the Kala Academy. The portfolio is being currently looked after by Dayanand Mandrekar.
Sources close to Wagh hinted at the induction and said the legislator has been asked not to move out of the state after the assembly session ends.
Sources said the decision to induct Wagh was taken during BJP national president Amit Shah’s visit in May but was scuttled by the party’s then organizing secretary Satish Dhond, who now stands transferred to the Konkan belt.
The cabinet expansion that was planned for last month was cancelled at the last minute.
Wagh, who had criticized the government on issues like medium of instruction and was seen with the MLAs projecting a third front, had later patched up with the party.
The MLA had recently raised his voice against the government’s decision to start a marina at Nauxi in his constituency. 
There is one post vacant in the cabinet since the resignation of Francisco (Mickky) Pacheco is currently undergoing 
six months imprisonment.following his
