With no income, Vanarmare Tribe members seek govt help for survival

PONDA: Around 40 members of nomadic Vanarmare tribe from Nirankal, Bethora, who recently shifted at Bhutkhamb, Queri plateau, have appealed to the government to provide them with food and ration as they have no source of income on account of the curfew imposed by the State.

The members, who have been left with no source of livelihood since the lockdown was announced, had temporarily shifted at Bhutkhamb, Queri plateau for survival. 

According to tribe members, they came at Querim in search of job few days ago. However, ever since the curfew was imposed, it has become difficult for them to get job and food. 

It may be recalled that in around 15 huts, about 80 members of the tribe have been residing at Nirankal, Bethora for the past many years. 

The nomad tribe is originally from Maharashtra.
