u In the evening an informal Congress Legislative Party meeting was planned but had to be postponed as some MLAs-elect did not get the election certificates in South Goa
u The same night Churchill Alemao came with Govind Gawde, Pratapsingh Rane came with Prasad Gaonkar, and Rohan Khaunte also arrived at an undisclosed venue. They all pledged to support Congress
u Soon after Luizinho Faleiro informed the Congress High Command he does not want to be in the race for the CLP leadership citing issues with Vijai Sardesai
u AICC Secretary Digvijay Singh was told to send a letter to Raj Bhavan to stake claim saying CLP leader would be decided the next day, which he did not do
u Shortly after, Singh, Digambar Kamat and AICC leader Venugopal met Sardesai at his Dona Paula flat wherein a call was also made to AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and assurance got that Sardesai’s terms would be met. It was also conveyed to Sardesai that Faleiro would not be the CLP leader
u Faleiro got a call from a senior AICC leader where he conveyed that he is ready to make sacrifice to bring Congress back to power

u Kamat was entrusted with the job to meet Sardesai and complete the alliance. However, Kamat arrived at CLP meeting after noon and lost touch with Sardesai, who he said was ‘untraceable’
u Congress leaders realised Sardesai was at a city hotel but still could not find him
u After Faleiro backed out of the leadership race several other leaders staked claim creating chaos
u A secret ballot was conducted but the result was kept in storage as Singh, for strange reasons, wanted Kamat to get back on Sardesai
u Senior citizens from Margao including Datta Naik, Dr Francisco Colaco and Cleofato Coutinho met Faleiro and Singh and kept waiting for word from Sardesai
u The Margao group was shocked when they came to know Sardesai had extended support to BJP
